How Much Can I Deposit

One of the great things about AHR is we let YOU decide when and how much you want to deposit into your HSA.  You can make deposits at the beginning of the year, or at the end of the year, or monthly, or quarterly, or whenever you want to file a claim!  It is your choice! 

You can invest up to 100% of the amounts shown below, prorated by the number of months that you have a HSA eligible health insurance policy in that year.  For example, say you have a family deductible policy that started in January.  You could invest up to $6,150 that year.  If your policy did not start until July, you would be able to deposit for 1/2 of that year: .5 x $6,150 = $3,075 for that year.:

The maximum amount you can put into your HSA is:

Family Coverage:  $6,150 in 2010 and 2011.

Individual Coverage: $3,050 in 2010 and 2011.

Individuals 55 and over may make additional "catch up" contributions of up to $1000 in 2010, and $1,000 in 2011.  A married couple, both over 55, can make a "catch up" contribution of up to $1000 each in 2010 and 2011.
