HRA
Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs) cut insurance costs immediately. Employers have found that premiums for HMO and low-co pay health insurance policies increase dramatically, year after year. The reason for this is simple: the more your insurance company has to pay out for medical care, the more it will charge you for insurance premiums. The solution is just as simple: get an inexpensive high deductible insurance policy to cover large or catastrophic expenses for your employees, and pay for their routine care yourself using a HRA. Here are some of the advantages of a HRA: -The health insurance deductible can be as low as $250, or as high as $25,000 -HRA payments are deductible for the employer and not taxable as income to the employee -The HRA only pays for care your employees actually receive, instead of paying insurance premiums for what they might receive. -Accounts are funded and owned by the employer, not the employee. Employees cannot take the accounts with them if they quit or get fired. -You can share costs with your employees.
